Singer & Songwriter — Australia
25 years of honest Australian songwriting
Andrew Barker has been an active and respected contributor to the Australian music industry for more than 25 years. His original songs have received airplay across a range of major media outlets, including the 9 Media (formerly Macquarie Radio Network) and the Channel 7 Network, most notably on Sunrise.
Throughout his career, Andrew's music has been supported by some of Australia's most recognised broadcasters, including Alan Jones, the late John Laws, and Ben Fordham.
One of Andrew's most notable achievements came when his song "Aussie to the Core" was selected by Howard & Sons to be synchronised with the Australia Day fireworks spectacular over Darling Harbour in 2005.
Over the past 15 years, Andrew has stepped back from performing to focus on family and to support emerging Australian talent through his involvement with the annual awards of the Australian Songwriters Association (ASA). As Stage Manager, he has helped countless unsigned artists share the stage with Iva Davies, INXS, The Angels, Kate Ceberano, Dave Faulkner, and many others.
Today, Andrew continues to write and record music, bringing decades of experience, authenticity, and a deep passion for Australian storytelling to every song he creates.
“One of the nicest people you could possibly meet in the music industry. We love him.”
— Denny Burgess, former Chairman of the ASA & member of the Masters Apprentices
